L'intervento, che prevede la ristrutturazione della esistente villa anni '70, è situato nella zona collinare del Monte Maderno e si caratterizza per la spettacolare vista verso il Lago di Garda e per la presenza di edifici isolati di tipo residenziale; ai piedi della collina l’edificato risulta più fitto confermando la vocazione prevalentemente residenziale.
Il progetto realizzato utilizza linee semplici, volumi puliti e, pur con un linguaggio del tutto moderno, affronta in maniera corretta il tema del rapporto con il contesto: la scelta del tetto verde esalta l’aspetto vegetazionale come elemento di primaria importanza; le ampie vetrate creano un continuo scambio di vedute fra interno ed esterno; le linee orizzontali dell’edificio richiamano l’andamento prospettico dei terrazzamenti. In un progetto dove dominano la pulizia formale e la trasparenza, l’utilizzo di materiali naturali per le pavimentazioni esterne, come il legno, il porfido e la pietra a vista per i muri di contenimento, concorre a generare un insieme armonico in cui l’edificio diventa elemento secondario rispetto all’ambiente circostante.

Restyling and expansion of a residential detached house

Location: Toscolano Maderno (BS)

In this work we refurbished a villa built in the 70's and located on the hilly area of Monte Maderno; it is characterized by and amazing view on Garda lake and by the presence of isolated residential buildings; on the foothill the buildings are thicker, confirming the commitment to residential use of the region.
The plan is based on a simple design, clean volumes and faces the subject of the connection with the landscape context in a modern, stylish and correct way: the green roof enhance the vegetation as a key element; the wide glass walls create a continuous exchange of views between inside and outside; the horizontal lines of the structure recalls the gait of the perspective given by the terracing.

Here the formal neatness and the transparency are the key elements: the use of natural materials for the external pavings, like wood and porphyry and the rustic stone for the retaining walls, create a harmonious combination where the building becomes of secondary importance in respect with the surrounding natural environment.
